Among the many features in SharePoint that are fabulous for collaboration and communication is the ability to originate and share a photo library.
I work for a creative agency, where we assist businesses with the creation of their brand identity. It is entirely normal for us to go through multiple revisions before we even present to the client. Of course we want to present the best options to the client; but sometimes it helps to have all of our options on hand for feedback.

Our hosted SharePoint selection is, by far, the easiest way for us to carry on deadlines and projects for clients. And since we have digital copies of all our creative work, it has come to be even easier. With the straight-forward creation of a photo library, we can no ifs ands or buts upload and share our creative work and get feedback from coworkers, as well as holding an easy report of all the past versions of work that was done for a client.
The possibilities for a photo library are endless. I mean, you can use it for creative work, a repository of your optic marketing materials, pictures of offices, (of office parties!) and anytime that you want to share images with the rest of your team.
And it’s no ifs ands or buts easy to do as well. In SharePoint Services 3.0, just corollary these steps:
Click on Site Actions then Create
Under “Libraries” elect photo Library
In the next menu, type in the name of the photo library, and how you would like to navigate to it.
Once the library has been created, it is easy to upload a new picture:
Click on Upload then Upload Picture
In the next menu, browse and elect the file you wish to upload.
The following menu allows you to enter a name, title, description, keywords for searching and even date the image was created.
Et Voila!
What’s great is that there are even more features to play nearby with, like viewing the images as a slide show, and changing the view, so that you can see thumbnails of the images instead of just file names.
Well, I’m sure you’ll be able to take benefit of yet someone else fabulous highlight of SharePoint.
